With Guru Purnima just around the corner, Paramhans Ashram in Satteshgarh, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, is preparing to welcome an estimated 1.5 million devotees from across India and abroad. Followers will gather to seek the blessings of the revered Swami Adgadanand Maharaj, a spiritual figure whose teachings and writings, including The Real Geeta, have reached audiences worldwide.
In anticipation of the massive influx, comprehensive preparations have been made, including arrangements for accommodation, food, sanitation, lighting, and parking. Special feasts are being prepared for nearly one million attendees, with confectioners from various states called in to assist. Twice-daily satsangs (spiritual discourses) will be conducted, forming the spiritual centrepiece of the gathering.
Paramhans Ashram And Swami Adgadanand
Paramhans Ashram, located in Satteshgarh, Mirzapur, enjoys global recognition as a spiritual centre. It regularly welcomes politicians, bureaucrats, and devotees seeking the blessings of Swami Adgadanand Maharaj.
The revered spiritual leader began his pursuit of truth at the age of 23, eventually reaching Paramanand Ashram, nestled in the forests of Chitrakoot. According to tradition, Paramanand Maharaj, regarded as a Siddha Rishi, had foreseen Adgadanand Maharaj’s arrival.
Swami Adgadanand is also a noted author, best known for The Real Geeta, a simplified interpretation of the Bhagavad Geeta, and other popular titles such as Doubt Resolution.
Devotees Flock From Across India
Each year, disciples from Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and beyond journey to the ashram to receive his blessings. Satsangs (spiritual discourses) are conducted twice daily.
For Guru Purnima, renowned confectioners from several states have been commissioned to prepare a grand feast, expected to serve over one million devotees. Facilities for parking, accommodation, and other logistics have already been arranged.
Preparations In Full Swing
Ashram head Narad Maharaj stated that Guru Purnima attracts an enormous number of devotees seeking Maharaj’s darshan (blessing). Anticipating a gathering of nearly 1.5 million people, preparations have been ongoing for over a month.
Senior district officials, including the District Magistrate, have been inspecting arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe experience. Guru Purnima holds deep significance in the Guru–disciple tradition, and the ashram is poised to welcome the influx with full readiness.
