Q1 result season: Excluding the financial sector, earnings are anticipated to rise by 6% YoY for the Nifty 50

Q1FY26 earnings calendar
TCS Q1 Results Date: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest software services exporter, is set to kick off the corporate earnings season for the first quarter of FY26. It will be the first Nifty 50 company to report Q1FY26 results, scheduled for release on July 10, 2025.
Sectorally, the IT sector will kickstart its earnings season from 10th July with Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Elxi reporting their Q1FY26 results, followed by Tech Mahindra, L&T Technology Services in the next week. Other key companies are yet to report the board meeting dates for considering quarterly results.
The overall earnings growth for the IT sector remained moderate due to challenges related to the slowdown in key markets like the US and Europe. The tier 1 and large-cap companies like TCS, Infosys and Wipro reported lower single-digit growth in the topline. Meanwhile, the tier 2 or mid-cap companies reported superior performance compared to their tier 1 peers. In terms of operational efficiency, tier 2 companies showed strong operating growth with better operating margins. On the bottom line front, the overall net profit growth stood in mid-single digits, owing to better operational efficiency in some cases.
Q1FY26 Earnings Season Outlook
Market analysts anticipate that the Q1 results may mark a turning point for India Inc., potentially transitioning from the tepid, low single-digit growth seen in FY25 to a more robust, sustainable double-digit earnings growth over the coming four quarters.
According to projections from Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL), corporate earnings for the April–June 2025 quarter are expected to rise 10% year-on-year (YoY). Earnings for Nifty 50 companies specifically are projected to grow at a more modest 5% YoY.
When excluding the financial sector, earnings are estimated to increase 14% YoY for the MOFSL Universe and 6% YoY for the Nifty 50. Further excluding global commodity sectors such as metals and oil & gas, MOFSL expects 6% YoY earnings growth for its universe and 4% YoY for the Nifty 50.
