Suzlon Share Price: Suzlon shares soar 14% after the company’s net profit for the quarter doubled on a year-on-year basis, even after excluding a Rs 600 crore deferred tax credit that boosted the absolute bottom line.

Suzlon Energy’s consolidated net profit for the quarter soared 365% year-on-year to Rs 1,181 crore, largely driven by an exceptional deferred tax gain of Rs 600 crore. This compares with a net profit of Rs 254 crore in the same quarter last year, according to an NSE filing.

For the full financial year 2024-25, Suzlon reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,072 crore, up from Rs 660 crore in the previous year. The company’s revenue from operations jumped 73.2% year-on-year to Rs 3,773.5 crore in Q4 FY25, from Rs 2,179.2 crore a year earlier.

Meanwhile, EBITDA nearly doubled, rising 99% to Rs 677 crore in the quarter compared to Rs 340.4 crore in the same period last year. EBITDA margin improved to 17.94%, up from 15.62% on a year-on-year basis.

Brokerage firm Morgan Stanley remains “overweight” on Suzlon Energy, with a price target of Rs 77 per share. Morgan Stanley cited faster commissioning of wind and hybrid projects, wind repowering opportunities, and green hydrogen-led turbine orders as upside risks to their estimates.

On the downside, the brokerage flagged global players re-entering the Indian market, delays in transmission connectivity at wind sites, land and supply chain issues, and a potential weakening in net working capital days as key risks.

Nuvama has a “neutral” rating on the stock, with a price target of Rs 68, up from its previous target of Rs 61 but still implying downside from current levels. Nuvama said it remains long-term positive on Suzlon Energy and has tweaked its FY26–FY27 earnings estimates to factor in 5-7% higher sales and an 8-15% increase in EBITDA, along with tax adjustments.

Suzlon remains a key player in the Commercial & Industrial and PSU segments, and benefits from a duopolistic market in EPC and WTG capabilities.

Out of the eight analysts tracking the stock, six have a “buy” rating and two have a “hold” rating — with none suggesting a “sell.”

Shares of Suzlon Energy were trading 13.4% higher at Rs 74.2, nearing their 52-week high of Rs 86.
