Yercaud, with its scenic beauty and tranquil environment, is an ideal escape from the heat. Yet, beyond these popular destinations lies a lesser-known natural wonder that’s equally breathtaking – the Aanaivari Muttal Waterfall, tucked away in the picturesque surroundings of Muttal village near Attur.
Located about 15 kilometres from Attur Mullaiwadi Road, Muttal village is well connected by buses and serves as the gateway to this hidden treasure. Just 3 kilometres from the village, deep within a forested area, flows the beautiful Anaivari Muttal Waterfall, a serene and relatively untouched tourist destination, maintained by the forest department.
The waterfall, around 2 kilometres from Muttal Lake, can be reached on foot or by boat. Especially during the summer monsoon, the waterfall comes alive with flowing water, creating a spectacular sight that makes the walk worthwhile.
Once you see the water cascading down the rocks, it’s hard to resist taking a refreshing dip.
