A military parade through the streets of Washington, D.C., was held Saturday to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary — which also happens to be President Trump’s 79th birthday. Army officials said about 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles and more than 50 aircraft would participate.
The parade along the National Mall was open to the public.
The military parade started at 6 p.m. ET, and festivities took place on the National Mall throughout the day. (The parade had been scheduled for 6:30 p.m., but organizers moved up the start time due to weather conditions.)
