For a while, there has been a surge in demand for a sequel to Pitch Perfect. Now, its star, Rebel Wilson, has teased an update about the project.
“We hear rumours all the time,” the 45-year-old told Guardian. “I know Universal is developing some scripts.”
She continued, “The fanbase for Pitch Perfect is so awesome and keeps growing as younger people are introduced to it. So, hopefully – there’s a huge desire for another movie.”
Her remarks came in the backdrop of her previous comments last year hinting Universal Pictures’ producers had been working on a script.
“I would love to do a Pitch Perfect 4, and I believe there is a script in development for it,” she said at the time.
Rebel was not the only star in the franchise who voiced the support for a fourth movie in the franchise. Anna Kendrick, who plays Beca, earlier told People, “Oh, my God, I know I would love [a sequel].
“I keep saying, I feel like Rebel is really like the steam engine of everything. So as long as she keeps saying it might happen, I’ll believe it.”
The last installment in Rebel’s Pitch Perfect was released in 2017.
