PM Kisan 20th Installment Date: As lakhs of farmers across India eagerly await the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, the next tranche of Rs 2,000 is likely to be released in July. Meanwhile, eligible farmers can use this time to update their documents or any details. Here’s how to update your mobile number for the PM Kisan scheme:
Farmers receive SMS alerts confirming the credit of PM-Kisan installments on the registered mobile number. An OTP-based Aadhaar verification requires a correct mobile number. Mobile number is also essential for status updates, grievance redressal, and re-verification. So, if your phone number is lost or deactivate now, the new number needs to be updated.
Here’s How to Update Your Mobile Number on the PM-Kisan Portal:
1. Visit the Official Website — https://pmkisan.gov.in.
2. Scroll down a bit on the homepage, click on ‘Update Mobile Number’
3. Enter Your Registration Number or Aadhaar Number
4. Enter Captcha Code and hit ‘Search’ to proceed.
5. Once your profile is fetched, enter your new mobile number and click Submit.
6. Verify via OTP. You may receive an OTP on the new number for confirmation.
Offline Mode: Visit Your Local CSC or Agriculture Department
If you’re unable to update the mobile number online, visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or your local agriculture office with Aadhaar card, PM-Kisan registration number, and Proof of mobile number ownership (if required).
PM Kisan: When Will PM Modi Release the 20th Installment?
PM Modi is expected to release the 20th installment of the PM Kisan scheme in July 2025.
The last (19th) installment was issued in February 2025.
Why Is 20th Installment Getting Delayed?
The PM Kisan installment usually comes in February, June, and October. Many expected a similar timeline this year. However, this time, the 20th installment seems to have got delayed as there is no official announcement on the date so far.
There have also been no official words on the reason why it is getting delayed this time. However, reports suggest that the amount will most likely be released in July by PM Modi at an event, which will be announced soon.
How To Complete e-KYC?
As the installment is expected to come soon, eligible farmers are required to complete before that to avoid payment failure. e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) is mandatory for all PM Kisan beneficiaries. Without it, your name may be dropped from the beneficiary list.
As per the scheme’s official website, “eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN Registered Farmers.”
You can complete e-KYC in three simple ways:
OTP-Based e-KYC: If your Aadhaar is linked to your mobile number, visit PM Kisan’s website and verify using the OTP.
Biometric e-KYC: Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for fingerprint authentication.
Facial Authentication: A special facility for senior citizens and physically challenged farmers is now available at CSCs, allowing e-KYC through facial recognition.
What To Do If Your PM-Kisan Name Doesn’t Match Aadhaar?
If you’re facing this issue, here’s how you can correct it:
Online Method
- Go to https://pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on ‘Farmer Corner’ > ‘Updation of Self Registered Farmer’
- Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha, and select the correct option
- Match your name exactly as it appears on Aadhaar and submit
Offline Method
Visit your nearest CSC (Common Service Centre) or Agriculture Department office with Aadhaar card, land records, bank passbook, and PM-Kisan ID (if available).

- Click on ‘Know Your Status’
- Enter your registration number or Aadhaar number
- Check whether your name is on the beneficiary list
- Also ensure that your eKYC is completed, as it is mandatory for installment release.
What Is The PM Kisan Scheme?
Launched in 2019 after being announced in the Interim Budget by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, the PM Kisan scheme has become the world’s largest DBT scheme. Under it, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months totaling Rs 6,000 annually in the following cycles — April-July, August-November, and December-March.
The money is deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Who Is Eligible for PM Kisan?
To qualify for the PM Kisan’s 20th installment, one must:
- Be a citizen of India
- Own cultivable land
- Be a small or marginal farmer
- Not be a pensioner receiving Rs 10,000 or more per month
- Not have filed income tax
- Not be an institutional landholder.
