Nicole Kidman revealed she enjoyed nearly every part of filming Nine Perfect Strangers except the freezing night shoots.
Speaking to People, the 57-year-old actress talked about filming the second installment of the series in the Austrian Alps, where the new season takes a darker turn compared to the sunny California setting of season 1.
While the first season was set in California and filmed on the warm Australian coast, the second installment took on a darker tone in the Austrian Alps during wintertime.
“I love the Austrian Alps,” Kidman gushed.
“I fell in love with that. There’s something so invigorating about being outside and actually being on the locations and actually being really cold and walking in snow. And I think there’s just something about the air and the water and the landscape and having it be authentic,” she said, sharing that they filmed for about six months in snowy weather, using a real castle as one of the main settings.
Despite the Baby Girl‘s love for the landscape, Kidman admitted that filming in cold night conditions was tough.
“It’s just night shooting in the cold or that sort of thing. I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m tired and I’m cold.’”
Still, Kidman believed that the cold weather helped her in performance.
“But then that can penetrate and infiltrate the story and the performance,” she added.
