There is one major rule and non-negotiable within Buckingham Palace that is the King’s non-negotiable.
This has been revealed during a channel 5 documentary and relates to meal times.
According to the doc titled Royal Residences: A Map of Britain, “There are 450 clocks in Windsor Castle and they have to all be changed by hand.”
And out of all these clocks the one “in the kitchen at Windsor Castle are always kept five minutes fast just to make sure the monarch’s food is always on the table in time,” according to royal expert Emily Andrews.
In terms of care for these clocks in question, the Royal Family has employed almost three people who manage them all around the year.
Ms Jennie Bond claims it takes over 16 hours to move these timepieces accordingly, “every spring and every autumn.”
This is only the case for Windsor Castle because in other residences, like the King’s London home, there are over 350 clocks, whereas the Palace of Holyroodhouse has about 50. In total it takes over 30 hours from start to finish.
