A plane reportedly crashed near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Thursday during its take-off sequence, India Today reported.
Visuals from the scene show thick plumes of smoke billowing from the wreckage. While there is no official confirmation yet, initial reports suggest the aircraft involved may be an Indian airline plane.
The flight was taking off for London and it crashed during routine operations on the tarmac, according to Indian media citing preliminary information.
Some reports suggest as many as 242 passengers were on board.
