Bruce Springsteen, a rock legend, has opened up with a raw emotion after watching what he called a “touching” portrayal of his father in an upcoming biopic.
While having a conversation with The Times to promote his forthcoming biographical musical drama film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, the 75-year-old American singer-songwriter and guitarist opened up about watching Stephen Graham play the role of his late father Douglas Springsteen, who also portrayed Eddie Miller in Adolescence.
Bruce said, “There’s some unusualness to it because the movie involves, in some ways, some of the most painful days of my life. But it was a great project, and Jeremy and Jeremy Strong [who plays manager Jon Landau] were both fantastic, terrific in it, as were all the other actors.”
He added, “Stephen Graham plays my dad, and he’s out of this world, but everybody that was engaged in the film, they were all tremendous.”
“If there was a scene coming up that was sometimes really deeply personal, I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I didn’t want to get in the way, and so I would just stay at home,” he told the outlet of the moments meant to recreate his childhood,” The Rising hitmaker noted.
In Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, which showcases the rock icon’s rise to fame, his father is a big part and appears in some of the harder scenes.
It is pertinent to mention that Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere will be released on October 24, 2025.
