Banks To Remain Closed For 12 Days, Check Full List

Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will be closed on June 6 for Bakrid, while the rest of India will observe it on June 7, followed by a Sunday holiday on June 8

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official list of bank holidays for June 2025. Banks will be closed for a total of 12 days throughout the month, including regional festivals, Sundays, and the regular weekly holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays.

The RBI prepares this holiday schedule annually in coordination with state governments and publishes it on its official website. All government and private banks across the country observe closures every Sunday, as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.

Additionally, the RBI has announced certain state-specific holidays that apply only to banks in those regions. Customers planning to visit bank branches next month for important transactions are advised to check the holiday schedule in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

Long Weekend On Bakri-Eid

Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, will remain closed on Friday, June 6, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid). Meanwhile, the Bakrid holiday will be observed across the rest of the country on Saturday, June 7, followed by the regular weekly holiday on Sunday, June 8. This means residents of Kerala can look forward to a three-day long weekend.

  5. June 11 (Wednesday) – Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti / Saga Dawa – Banks closed in Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim
  6. June 14 (Saturday) – Second Saturday – Banks closed across the country
  7. June 15 (Sunday) – Weekly Holiday
  8. June 22 (Sunday) – Weekly Holiday
  9. June 27 (Friday) – Rath Yatra / Kang – Banks closed in Odisha and Manipur
  10. June 28 (Saturday) – Fourth Saturday – Banks closed in all states
  11. June 29 (Sunday) – Weekly Holiday
  12. June 30 (Monday) – Remna Ni – Banks closed in Mizoram

During bank holidays, customers can continue to access services through net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs. While these digital platforms remain operational for transactions, cheque clearing and other physical banking activities governed by the Negotiable Instruments Act will not be processed on these days.
