In a major move to facilitate rapid infrastructure development around the Noida International Airport, the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (UPEIDA) has imposed a complete ban on land purchase and sale along the alignment of the proposed 74.3-kilometre-long expressway that will link the upcoming airport to the Ganga Expressway.

The directive, issued by UPEIDA, comes as groundwork intensifies for the high-speed corridor, which is also designed to connect the Ganga Expressway with the Yamuna Expressway, effectively knitting together three of the state’s most ambitious transport projects. Officials have warned of strict action against individuals or entities found violating the order.

The Ganga Expressway itself is a Rs 4,000 crore mega-project set to connect Meerut to Prayagraj. The new link expressway, beginning from the Syana region of Bulandshahr and culminating near Sector 21’s Film City on the Yamuna Expressway, is being positioned as a critical stretch for enhancing multimodal logistics and passenger connectivity in western Uttar Pradesh.

In response to UPEIDA’s order, district administrations in Noida and Bulandshahr have initiated surveys to identify plots falling under the notified zone. Officials are mapping affected areas and marking impacted land parcels for acquisition or regulation.

56 Villages To Be Affected By Route Realignment

According to reports, the total width of the new expressway corridor will be 120 metres. In a bid to avoid disturbing existing developed zones in Yamuna City, the route has been strategically altered. As a result, the expressway will now pass through 56 villages, 8 of which lie in Noida district, with the remaining 48 situated in Bulandshahr.

The alignment traverses key rural settlements such as Mehndipur Bangar, Bhaiyapur Brahmanan, Rabupura, and Myana in the Noida region. In Khurja tehsil, villages including Amanullahpur, Kapna, and Bhagwanpur will also be impacted. Several panchayats in Syana and Shikarpur tehsils are similarly expected to fall within the expressway’s ambit.

Industrial, Airport Connectivity Set To Surge

Officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) have hailed the project as a cornerstone for the region’s economic transformation. They say the expressway will act as a vital artery for boosting freight movement, particularly between the Noida airport and key industrial hubs in Yamuna City such as sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33.

With this route, connectivity between Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, and Prayagraj will improve significantly, a senior YEIDA official told The Indian Express, adding that it will not only ease passenger travel but also strengthen logistics across western UP.

There is also growing momentum behind the idea of linking the new expressway with National Highway 34 (NH-34), although officials say a concrete blueprint for this connection is still in the works.

The sweeping infrastructure push comes on the heels of other major road developments across the state. Just recently, a new 66-kilometre stretch was added to the Delhi-Jaipur route, cutting travel time by nearly an hour and affecting 56 villages along its path.
