The Ayushman Bharat card is issued under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) scheme. It provides eligible individuals with cashless and paperless access to healthcare services, including hospitalisation coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year. The card also plays a crucial role in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, offering access to digital health records and services.
Losing this card can understandably cause panic, especially for beneficiaries registered with the National Health Authority (NHA) who may need urgent medical care. The good news is that the card can be easily retrieved or reissued, provided the correct procedure is followed.
If you’ve lost your Ayushman Bharat card, don’t worry, retrieving it is simple. Follow these steps to get a duplicate issued:
Online Method:
Step 1: Head to the official website of the National Health Authority (NHA) at https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/.
Step 2: Log in using your registered Mobile Number and OTP.
Step 3: Next up, search for your beneficiary details using your name or ID.
Step 4: Verify your Aadhaar Card Details.
Step 5: Click on the option to download your Ayushman Card.
Step 6: Continue the authentication process, which could require OTP verification.
Step 7: Download and save your Ayushman Bharat Card.
Offline Method:
In case of loss, you can also obtain a new Ayushman Bharat card offline by visiting your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
Step 1: Locate the nearest CSC centre through the official website.
Step 2: Inform the CSC executive that you would like to download your Ayushman card and submit your mobile number for verification.
Step 3: Submit the required information, such as an Aadhaar Card or Ration Card (if Aadhaar is unavailable) and other details.
Step 4: After verification, the CSC will issue a new Ayushman Card.
Health ID or ABHA number:
If your Ayushman Bharat card was issued through the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) digital health ecosystem, you can access it using your Health ID or ABHA number.
This ID is associated with your Ayushman Bharat profile and can be used to recover lost credentials or access services through the National Health Authority (NHA) portals.
It’s important to note that losing the physical Ayushman card does not affect your eligibility or benefits under the AB PM-JAY scheme. Your healthcare access is secured through your details in the National Health Authority (NHA) database. The card simply helps speed up the processing; it’s a tool, not the basis of your entitlement.
