A new crime novel will feature Queen Camilla alongside her favourite fictional detective.
According to the Telegraph, author Peter James’s latest Detective Superintendent Roy Grace thriller centres on a race to stop a killer at Buckingham Palace.
The publication reported that Camilla is depicted travelling aboard the royal train when it derails and a trusted aide is shot by a sniper, leading to Grace heading to the palace to investigate.
The report said that the Queen, 77, is understood to have been aware of the book which draws on James’s extensive research inside the palace.
Camilla, King Charles’s second wife who he married in 2005, is known for her love of books and reading.
The Queen has been involved in various literary initiatives and has supported several book-related charities.
Camilla’s interests and patronages often highlight her appreciation for literature and learning.
The report about the crime novel came after the Windsor Castle grounds were breached by an introducer.
According to reports, the intruder attempted to break into the estate where Kate Middleton and Prince William reside with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 6.
