Mamma Mia! franchise producer Judy Craymer teased that Sabrina Carpenter could play the lead role in the upcoming third installment of the movie.
Speaking to Deadline on Wednesday, the female producer expressed her interest in casting the pop star, saying she could envision Sabrina playing a role in an in-the-works third movie.
“She’d be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep,” Judy told the outlet.
The 67-year-old producer further hinted at Sabrina’s potential appearance, saying, “It’ll happen when it happens.”
In the interview, Judy confirmed to the outlet that the script for Mamma Mia 3 has been written.
“Well, we know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen,” she said. “And I mean, we brought together this amazing group of movie stars that were all connected through it and huge friendships evolved.”
However, the release date for the upcoming installment of Mamma Mia has not yet been revealed.
